What are the characteristics of a good farrier file rasp?

Decarbonization

Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon, and decarburization occurs when the file blank is annealed because of the loss of surface carbon due to high temperature. Because after the carbon is lost, the rest is iron, so if the decarburized part cannot be completely ground off when the surface of the file is polished, the cutting ability of the final produced file will be greatly reduced. After all, the hardness of iron is much lower than that of steel. Of course, the performance of iron filing things on the surface cannot be compared with that of steel.Our files require 100% removal of the decarburized layer and are ground by a grinder, which ensures the performance of the file and increases its life.

Heat treatment

The biggest indicator of a file is the angle of the tooth pattern.
