For several months, a stray cat made her home outside a Starbucks, unnoticed by most passersby. However, her fate took a turn when David Loop, a member of Sierra Pacific Furbabies, spotted her. When David attempted to approach her, the cat responded with aggressive hissing, clearly indicating that she did not want to be touched.
Despite her reluctance, David carefully brought her to an emergency veterinary clinic, where the staff informed him that she was suffering from a dangerously low red blood cell count. Her condition was so severe that David feared she might not survive.
Determined to give her a fighting chance, David stayed by her side throughout the night. He even climbed into her crate to provide her with comfort. “If they have someone to comfort them it gives them a stronger will to live,” David shared, explaining his motivation.
Miraculously, just three days later, the cat, now named Zoey, showed significant improvement. She had transformed from a wary, untouchable stray into a cat that eagerly sought out affection. Zoey began greeting David with a soft meow every time he spoke to her, and she even enjoyed being cradled like a baby—something David made sure to do for her daily.

The bond between them grew quickly, and David realized that he couldn’t part with her. Zoey had found not only a home but also a person who truly cared for her, and David knew they were meant to stay together.
