Rocky Kanaka, a well-known animal advocate, decided to pay a visit to a shelter dog named Penny. Penny was found wandering the streets, but thankfully her owners were located. The staff was overjoyed! They couldn’t wait for Penny to reunite with her family. However, the good news turned tragic when her owners said they didn’t want her anymore and that the shelter should just keep her. However, despite her trauma, she remained hopeful. Her resilience inspired shelter staff and they couldn’t help but fall in love with Penny.
They reached out to Rocky and asked for him to come see Penny, hoping his charm and large YouTube audience would help the pup find her new home. When he arrived at the shelter, he was surprised when Penny wasn’t in her kennel. He confusingly searched around, looking for Penny on the adopted board. Nope. She wasn’t listed. He continued on his quest to locate Penny.
The pup was finally located in a special kennel for dogs that are “on hold.” This meant that a family was interested in adopting her but many times, these adopters don’t come back. Rocky decided to take Penny on a trip to Starbucks to get a Puppuccino, hoping to make the day go faster. Her new family had until 4 pm to pick her up.
Rocky pulled up to the drive-through window, eager to give Penny her treat. However, she chose affection instead of the whipped cream treat. The Starbucks employees were happy to oblige! It was time to head back to the shelter to see if her family showed up.
The dog and her new human friend nervously entered the building, and she was taken back to the kennel. Two kind people showed up and stood at the reception desk asking about Penny. It was her new parents! Penny was brought out to meet them, and their union is nothing short of amazing! The next step was for Rocky to take Penny to the pet store to buy everything she touches. Her outing is too cute to miss!
