If you have both cats and dogs at home, you’ve likely seen them play the game “Whose bed is it anyway?” You might buy a new bed for your big dog, but your cat often claims it.
When this happens, dogs look to their humans for help. In the video below, a Golden Retriever walks into the living room, ready to nap in his big, fluffy bed. He quickly notices something is wrong and finds the cat already in the bed. The cat looks at him as if to say, “Scram, dog!”
The dog circles the bed, huffing in frustration. He keeps panting and pacing, hoping the cat will move. He barks, but the kitten stays put, cozy and unbothered.
The dog looks to his human for help, but gets none. He tries nudging the cat with his head, avoiding any claws. He then flips half the bed over, but the cat doesn’t budge. He tries to turn the whole bed over to remove the cat, but it doesn’t work, and the kitten just meows.
Determined, the dog tries dragging the bed away with his mouth, but it’s useless. He lies down beside the bed, panting and thinking of a new plan. Maybe the cat will share? He nudges himself onto the bed. The cat is fine with it, but the dog still wants his bed back. He barks and tries to push the cat off, but only gets a hiss.
Finally, the cat finds an even better bed: the dog himself. She climbs onto him as he lies next to “their” bed. Now that they are cuddling, both seem happy.
